Han Qin: Pequeñas imágenes

The closing reception of Little Images will feature a special performance by FluxFringe, where Margaret Schedel, Maxime Esformes, and August Sheehy respond to Han Qin's video installation Ride the Wave with an improvisational musical score.

Inspired by the early works of Lee Krasner, Han Qin's exhibition Little Images confronts the idea of “home” as both a refuge and a restraint. Drawings, videos, sculptures, personal artifacts, and site-responsive installations illustrate Qin's own search for belonging, personally, artistically, and culturally.

Han Qin is a visual artist, researcher, and art journalist based in Long Island, NY and Hangzhou, China.

A Chancellor Award adjunct professor within the art department of SUNY Stony Brook, Han was the recipient of the 2023 NYSCA award for Film, Media, and New Technology and is a founding member of the US Immigrant Artist Network and an Executive Committee member of the Chinese American Art Faculty Association.
